This hands on printmaking workshop will explore the recent technological developments in fine arts digital printmaking. By combining the latest digital printmaking and image editing technology with traditional fine art photographic printmaking techniques, students will learn how to create high quality digital prints. In-depth discussions will include:

- color calibration
- color management
- advanced imaging techniques
- output options
- substate choices
- permanance issues
- portfolio review
- acceptance in the fine art world
- Traveling to Day of the Dead events in the evening

We will be utilizing the latest Epson printing technology. Participants will learn methods that will enchance their ability to create high quality digital input and output either with their own equipment, or in conjunction with an outside service provider. Class participantes should have intermediate to advanced Photoshop skills. Although scanning will be discussed, there will be no onsite scanning equipment available so participants are asked to bring either digital files or prints

Please Note: This workshop costs $650 usd. You can reserve a place by paying a 50% deposit. The full balance due must then be paid, at the very latest, one month in advance. A US$50 fee will be requested to cover the provision of various workshop materials. Includes 3 evening trips to Day of the Dead events for photographic opportunities. Epson paper will be supplied for this class.

R. Mac Holbert is the co-founder of Nash Editions. Widely regarded as the world's first digital printmaking studio, Nash Editions has established an international reputation for fine art photographic digital output. Conceived in 1989, and opening its doors in 1991, Nash Editions celebrates its 13th anniversary this year.

Mr. Holbert has printed several seminal digital fine art exhibits that have been exhibited all over the country including, Metamorphoses:Photography in the Electronic Age for the Aperture Foundation in 1994, Nagasaki Journey: the Photographs of Yosuke Yamahata in 1995, Nash Editions at the Butler Museum of American Art in 1996, Digital Frontiers, Photography's Future at Nash Editions for the George Eastman House in 1998, and America In Detail:Photographs by Stephen Wilkes for Epson America in 1991.
