Teach a Workshop in Oaxaca

La Luz Talleres is always interested in partnering with talented and creative individuals, with teaching experience, to teach workshops in Oaxaca, Mexico. La Luz is seeking collaborators interested in connecting Americans and Mexicans in new partnerships through art, education, activism, and a sharing of culture.

Through offering workshops La Luz desires to encourage American-Mexican collaboration and dialogue by pairing US students, professors, artists, and community groups with their counterparts in Mexico to facilitate shared learning experiences.

La Luz Talleres will work with instructors to create courses specific to Oaxaca or host artists/educators wishing to teach their class here in Oaxaca. We like to engage diverse artists/educators from varied disciplines: painters, photographers, installation, video, performance and digital artists, graphic art printers, art historians, writers, ecologists, as well as gifted artists and individuals in other disciplines.

La Luz Talleres sets high standards for instructors. All must have a bachelor's degree, or the equivalent in professional experience, in their creative medium(s). In addition, they must:

1) be actively creating work;
2) be showing work in professional fine art galleries;
3) have extensive teaching experience and references, preferably at college or university
level.

All programs are created to custom fit each artist/instructor and new proposals are welcomed by our Executive Director.

How To Partner With Us

La Luz Talleres is able to coordinate participants, community connections, and logistical arrangements for artists/educators wishing to lead a workshop or for university groups desiring a unique setting for purposeful study. We welcome proposals to host different workshops or university groups. La Luz Talleres will connect artists/educators with various communities and groups throughout Oaxaca, in accordance to the specific needs of each workshop.
